Safe & secure medicine take-back courtesy of Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and our other Health partners- for local Rotarians and their guests.

Boulder Rotary Club’s Preserve Planet Earth Action Group welcomes Greg Fabisiak, Environmental Integration Coordinator and speaker on the community panel will present “Proper Use, Storage and Disposal of Household Medications” for this special meeting.  Any Boulder Rotarian or interested guest may attend this special pre-meeting presentation.

Event Details:

As part of Boulder Rotary’s ongoing commitment to supporting critical issues within our local community, we are honored to take an important step in educating our members about the growing opioid crisis in Boulder County.

Boulder Rotary is honored to host this special 45-minute program titled “Opioid Crisis in Boulder County – What You Can do to Help”​ with brief presentations by experts on the issue as well Shane Niemeyer who will share his personal story of recovery!

Presenters include:

  • Hans Wilk, Mental Health Partners (MHP)
  • Greg Fabisiak, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE)
  • Jamie Feld, Boulder County Public Health (BCPH)
  • Shane Niemeyer, Speaker & Coach, True Ambitions

As an added benefit, in cooperation with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Boulder County Public Health, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado Consortium of Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention, we will also be staging a Safe Disposal Medication Take-Back Event​ so members can bring in all their old, unneeded, and expired medications for safe disposal. This event will be held prior to the meeting from 10:45 AM – 12:30 PM in the Avalon lobby.
